Concord High School
Academic Teams
Academic Bowl
Academic Bowl is a club where members test their knowledge against other schools in competitions. Students answer a series Jeopardy-like questions in a game format. It is recommended for students who are quick-thinkers and know a lot about a variety of topics. Academic Bowl usually meets every other Wednesday after school and competes at various schools in the area.
Math League
Math League provides an opportunity for students to compete with other schools in solving challenging math problems. Concord has three teams in the Senior High Division (grades 10-12) and 3 teams in the 9th grade Division. These six teams compete with five other schools during four meets from October to February. The top teams from each school in each division then compete at the Annual Invitational Meet in Dover in April. Concord has sent teams in both divisions to the Invitational meet for the last several years. In 2006, the 9th grade team placed 1st in the state.
Concord Technology Student Association (TSA)
The Technology Student Association is a national organization that promotes technology in high schools and middle schools. Members of TSA will meet throughout the year to prepare for the annual state conference at the Delaware State Fair Grounds in Harrington. Students compete in events like dragster design, bridge modeling, cyberspace pursuit, and technology bowl. Students do most of their work outside school. They also work in teams to compete. Concord's chapter of TSA was founded in 2006 and is advised by engineering teacher Jordan Estock.
Science Olympiad
Concord's Science Olympiad team competes each year in the Delaware Science Olympiad held in Dover. The students compete in 24 different science events like Astronomy, engineering challenges, rocket launches, and Forensics. The team was founded in 2008 and has been ranked in the top 10 in the state many times in the past 10 years.
